Low coolant message-FYI. Shortly after setting off this morning I received a low coolant warning on the dash. Called the dealer who told me to bring it right in. Long story short, turned out to be a leaking coolant pipe. See attached picture. They had it for about 4 hours and now all seems well.

It has been quite cold, so thought perhaps it was just close to the borderline of coolant level and colder temperature caused it to go below tolerance level for alert. I did, however.

If you can still see some in the bottom of the bottle, just top up with water. JLR coolant is concentrated, meant to be mixed 50 / 50. You're going to put probably half a litre at most in. Received 279 Likes on 214 Posts. If the coolant low message is a false alarm (but always pays to check) then it's probably the float sensor. Similar thing reported with the Land Rover/Range Rover which uses similar parts - the float becomes porous and stops floating properly.

Rob M. 41 posts · Joined 2017. #2 · Mar 1, 2023. When they refilled the system with coolant there may be air bubbles in there, which need to be purged. Voids could cause the low coolant level. One way to get air bubbles out of the system would be to remove the cap on the coolant reservoir bottle and then run the engine for a few minutes.
